VESA Display Stream Compression (DSC)
The VESA Display Stream Compression standard enables electronics manufacturers to develop compelling ultra high-definition displays while reducing video transport bandwidth, power consumption, and overall system costs.
As a member of the DSC Task Group, we have played an active role in the development of the DSC standard, and our unique position has enabled us to develop IP cores with a true understanding of standard compliance design considerations.

DisplayPort 1.4 Forward Error Correction
DisplayPort™ 1.4 takes advantage of VESA DSC 1.2 to support higher resolution displays. DisplayPort 1.4 also specifies Forward Error Correction (FEC) which, when combined with DSC 1.2 transport, improves the resiliency to link errors when transporting compressed video to external displays. Our DisplayPort FEC IP cores implement Reed-Solomon FEC and symbol interleaving as specified by the VESA DisplayPort 1.4 standard.
